I prefer to either run the 90t 48p or the 128 64p. I think the car has a better feel and better top end speed if you use a bigger spur, smaller pinion combo.
I would also just use the Losi spur gears, they are lighter than if you put your own spur and adapter on there. You want the least amount of rotating mass as possible.
