Ok..are you trying to increase play from side to side... or up and down for the bearing?? I guess you are trying to make sure the bearing isnt pinched when the tranny cases are screwed together? Or make sure the diff is free between the bearings? I have noticed some cases are tight on the bearings when the two halves are put together. On one side of the tranny case where the shock tower is lowest and closest to the bearing, when you tighten the screw that holds the tower in place, it will dimple the plastic, and press on the outer race of the diff bearing. But as far as side to side play for the diff between the bearings goes... i still have to use some of the standard shims to get rid of the excess play. (spaced to allow a looser mesh with the gear case pinion) Is this because i am still using the older gear cases that were updated for the NTC3? Were the tolerances changed from the old cases to the newer? Maybe i just misunderstood the previous question.
