I would not recomend a spool on carpet it can make the front tires over heat but then really make just the outside tire on sweepers and long corners over heat which will make the car feel tweaked. I would go with a Diff if you dont want to use a 1-way and run it tight or have some thick diff lube in it. The Teemu setup works well with a Diff I have run my car like that and also another local racer here raced his car that way and it was also good.
