Ven, not saying that is a good or bad deal, but I would just start off new. You can get into on road or offroad with a ready to run kit for a very reasonable price these days. Stick with either Losi or Associated for now as your main concern being new to the hobby would be parts availablity and customer service. Every person here has a different opinion so it will be up to you do your home work. Keep in mind that No Ready to Run kit will be "top of the line", but with practice they are all more than capable of winning.
