Also, Kyosho has a tool for the pinion gears on the evolva that works very well for measuring clutch end play. This tool works very well on the Mugen. I dont know if the side of the tool to remove/install gears will work, but the feeler gauge area works nice.

Red shoe: soft shoe, most grip, shortest life span, works well with aluminum clutch bells
Yellow shoe: med-soft shoe, a little less grip than red, medium-short life span, works best a little glazed with steel clutch bells
Gray shoe: med shoe, good grip, medium life span, perfect amount of slip, works best with the steel clutch bells
Black shoe: hard shoe, least amount of grip, longest life span
I've only used that tool for end play...lately, I've been learning how to measure by feel. Takes a lot of practice though. Hope this helps.
