I like that someone tries different ideas on their cars. Your 1/10 scale oval car with the upright rear shocks and off-set steering servo is very interesting.
You would unscrew the two screws on the top of the battery hold down. It will then slide out of the rear and the battery comes right out. Although it doesn't look it, it is quite easy.
