actually I tried a codex from quicktime but have yet to find one that made the video as clear as real player and actually they have a real player for mac.

trust me I have quicktime pro and NOTHING came close to rm format for size and quality. the video is a mov off my camera but I convert a 300meg mov file to a 15 meg rm file and I can barely tell the diff
