The YRX-12 was specifically designed for asphalt, even the thick chassis is VERY flexable and I am pretty sure the wheelbase is longer as well. If you want to run a t-bar car on carpet check out the IRS, BMI, CRC or hyperform chassis since they are all stiff and made to be run on carpet.

As far as front ends i think crc sells a complete new style front end, but i dont know if he includes the updated castor blocks, but they are under $3 (but they make a huge difference in how well the front end works, alot better mold quality) for around $40(?)

BTW as far as bodies, the thick body will steer more (and trust me, you do notice it) than a thin body due to the extra weight, so just keep that in mind.
