Thanks for the input. The drive train condition occurs without any wheels on the car. As far as the slop goes, the front "C" hub carrier's hinge pin seems to be the source for the majority of this slop. The pin appears to be loose in the hinge pin holes. If you move the hubcarrier/steering arm, it seems as though there is a lot of flex in the forward/back directions (increased and decreased caster).
Hi Eric,

Run a couple of packs through the car it should loosen up. If not, I would look at how the pinion gears are shimmed. Mine were too close to the ring gear. I have also cut one of the drive shaft "biscuits" in half to allow the shaft to float a little.

As to the caster block slop, I have left it alone. I had poor results when trying to repair the play there (my attemped repairs appeared to bind up the car). It seems to work OK when I leave it alone so I did. So far, so good.
