i would go with the hole design
1 it`s easier to do
2 you can`t recreate the serrations on the new brush;;;i have 2 reserratars & both chew the hell out of the brush
3 the hole will last longer

also me & gavin clinch have been running them full face ,once they bed in that`s it, maybe clean up the trailing & leading edges a little between runs, that`s about it
