Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get plumbers lube. its a silicone paste (clear) just like diff "grease" also you can get a teflon tape that is sticky in one side and slick on the other, Buds RC used to have it in the 80s-90s and put a piece on the bottom and the top of the FRP plates that the friction discs slide on / through. Trim the edges, and ut will make it smoother.

Lastely, Tamiya had Teflon (white) friction discs as an option. 53149

also the ball type rear mount will take out some tbar flex if you need it. Also you dont have to worry about tracking issues with the stock setup, where the screws holding the T-bar to the main chassis can elongate and wear the tbar holes out over time.
