They did, but only for a few crash free laps. After that, they got worn fast....
Now I am back to polished steel pins.... I doubt that any other material would be as successful there as the steel pins . I guess I had gone too far trying to lose weight, but better to add weight to beef up a touring car than lose weight to make the minimum requirements...My car is still 25grams under the 1350gram minimum...
