I have made mine in 3D, available in shapeways.

Some drivers were asking for it, with a better gear box seal and covering the front suspension mount.
I have made it in "normal" plastic or in Alumide ( Metallic plastic ).

I personally use the Alumide material ( painted with black tamiya spray TS-6 )...it is enough resistant.
