Just got a 2nd hand zx6 and was wondering what size pinion is most commonly used with a stock spur and a 17.5 stock motor. sorry for the stupid question but his is my first 1/10th buggy. Any other tips on setup etc would be greatly appreciated.

Are you running in a stock class of some kind?
I can't imagine running a wheeler with a 17.5 but if you're going that route I'd advise taking the spur down to 75 or 72 and pairing that with something like a 29T and go up if need be while temping between runs. But seriously even a 13.5 can seem sluggish in a wheeler.
