If your car is new and your shop stocks parts, don't worry about breakage. This thing is pretty tough.
Just a personal observation: Saturday night, I also managed to break my rear shock tower... I have been racing my 3.0 since it hit the track the first week of December - that is five (5) MONTHS of racing it every Saturday night - this is the first time anything on the car has broken...
FWIW: I have a suspicion that I know WHY the rear shock tower breaks where it does (every picture of a broken rear shock tower shows the last 3/4" of the right "ear" snapped off)... If the car flips and lands upside down with the rear end hitting first, the shock tower flexes just enough for it to hit the aluminum motor mount, and it snaps at that spot...
