Its much easier to convert a MBX7 to R spec, than trying to piece an X6/X7 hybrid together. There are a lot more differences between the two, and you would need to know specifically what will work and what won't. Plus depending on how much you want to spend, and later on if you want to sell it, you may not see any of that cost returned to you.
