Tin the wire then use a pair of smooth jaw pliers and squeeze the tinned wire into a rectangular shape. This will make it easier to fit in the slots on the solder posts. I had to do it this way with 12 gauge wire with my RX8.
That's exactly what I do to. I also tin more open wire than I need to so I can cut it down to the right length before I shape it for the terminal.
Don't even need shrink wrap really, but I do it anyways just so it looks nice.
