From what I have read, Trinity and Express both go thru a similar process to hand tune a motor for best performance. There seems to be some uncertainty about exactly what Trinity does when they build a Certified motor. Some think it is taking parts from the best 5% of each batch. Some think that Trinity has been doing this long enough to know exactly where the cutoff is for the top 5%.
John Tag is very open about how he tunes motors, what his selection process is and how he will tweak a motor for you. That is reassuring and he does this at a very reasonable price.
