The main upgrade I would suggest is to get the alloy servo mount. It's much stronger and reliable. Other than that, just get the tuning options like springs, and sway bars.
Gearing really depends on your motor and track layout to narrow down what will work best. The kit comes with a 100t and 86t 64p spur gears so you will need 40t-50t pinions to cover the tuning range of these stock motors. This will get you around a 4.0 FDR for 13.5 and 3.0 FDR for 17.5t. But like I said, it all depends on the motor and track to be more specific. You can ask around the pits to see what FDR the other racers are running to get a better idea of what to run in your area.
