If you download the manual On page 5 it tells you that there's a bag with all the hard parts in the kit. You can then pick and choose which to use when building the car
Personally I think the hard parts are the equivalent off running the carbon arm stiffners in my opinion which were a must if running indoors but not if we ran outdoors. The extra hard bulkheads and other parts are just a bonus!
