I used an old axle with the new CVA everything went together as it should.

Had issues besides the axles, missing one crush tube and 2 3x18mm flathead screw. arg took the one off my old car but still.
I had a similar issue with a NIP original design axle. The cup portion was bent/dented or otherwise out of round and I tossed it in the box to deal with another day. It's been nearly a year and I had since forgotten about it.
