so look.. I don't normally suggest this but if it keeps you from waiting on a replacement then so be it.
if the threads the rest of the way up look fine, then get the dremel out and cut a mm or two off the end.... purely speculation but maybe the threads aren't finished on the end??? that way if you cut it bit you can still race and won't be caught a week out without a replacement.
