Anyone notice rear pinion play at the rear diff? Mines so bad the bearing in the diff housing walks itself out towards the deiveshaft. With the diff installed in the rear my pinion moves in and out like 4mm. It left rub marks on the rear diff cup cause its to deep.
Do you have a picture of this? If the center drive cup is pushed all the way in on the pinion and locked down on the pinion, the bearing and pinion shouldn't have any play. I would make sure my set screw is free of oil and snug everything up and see what happens. I had the center drive cup back off my diff pinions and bearing push out when i first built my nt48. I made sure the set screw was free of oil, loctite it and tighten it down again and it hasn't happened since.
