Diff Nuts
In 3 weeks of racing since I got my RC12l3 with a IRS small ring axle, I have stripped out 3 plastic diff nuts. All it takes is one or two good whacks into the boards (stacked 2X4s) to loosen up the nut enough that I can not continue. Is that normal? I was thinking of putting on a metal lock nut, but was wondering if the plastic nut was a designed in weak point to prevent breaking a more expensive part and to suck up buying a bunch of plastic nuts. I know that as my driving improves I will hit the boards less and that should help. A week after I got the car the track changed the 12th class from stock to spec 19t and the 19t is a steep learning curve for a newbie.
