I found only the thin wheel bearings used with the DCJ are a (specific) must, and maybe a belt when yours is getting on a bit. Other than that just the usual, arms, hub carriers (you might want one or two caster values for tuning), uprights. The rest is covered by your bottomless toolbox full of leftover parts from all the cars you previously owned (washers, shims, screws, etc).
Why does it have to be someones dad? Regardless I was being helpful and answered his question, what he chooses to buy is entirely up to him.
