I just got a XV-01 to try. My son wanted a car that goes on pavement and can also get through the grass. He also wanted lights and a working windshield wiper.
This is what I have so far.
For light buckets I used the Tamiya Subaru rally car buckets. They leave a gap on the outside edge but I covered that with the decal from the outside and covered it with aluminum tape from the inside.
I still have to install the other light bucket, and the lights.
The Subaru rally car rear buckets don't fit at all, so on the back I will just make holes in the body and the lights will stick out through the light decal.

I still have to install the slave wiper. It hits on the fender liners, so I need to do some trimming for clearance.

Just to test it I ran the wiper motor off the ESC (just because the wires to the 540 motor cross right under the wiper motor). In fact, it works pretty well that way. The wipers stop when the car stops and they run fast when the car is moving fast. The wipers on my full size BMW do that.
