Building my car this week and I picked up the AE x-rings for it (based on first page). Shocks are so friction free it makes me wonder how they will hold oil under usage! Anybody running them and can confirm success or should I pick up another part? Using Losi 32.5 and 35 wt oils.
I have personally used them. They will leak. Others have said that they leaked for them and they got rid of them. For me, it only leaked for the first build. After the rings swelled with oil, they no longer leaked. So during the next rebuild, they were fine.
But I have gone to the Traxxas rings and so have others. I even used green slime and they have never leaked.
