Without the SK3x3 Set Screw being installed, dirt would be allowed to enter into the upright and possibly affect the C0601 8x16 Bearings. lol

One would think it's there as a lube point possibly. Maybe someone else can chime in here and provide the real reason the hole and set screw are present.
