Yes the one-way bearing is most likely broken. If you remove both the outdrives, clean out any grease and then glue them in with quality instant glue you will have an effective spool.

Yup.. the one way lasted 1 trip to the track and went out again.
When I cleaned it out again it lost about 4 roller bearings..
It's now a spool. the glue trick works great..
The old LRP brushed esc didn't have reverse.. that was kind of annoying so I put a Novak GTB in with a LRP X12 17.5 motor.. It's still geared for the brushed setup so I need to work on that.
We also found that the steering was binding..
Closer inspection revealed that the from A arms had been installed upside down swapped left to right.
I tore the whole front end apart and got it all together the right way and dialed in.
Driving much better now.
