Ya my opinion is that the b5m performs best at around the 1540-1570 gm mark. Mine weighs 1540 and it is absolutely dialed. Only upgrades I have are pucks, aluminum top shaft, avid slipper, and titanium turnbuckles. Actually to prove my point there is a local guy who was racing yesterday and he has the xfactory carbon chassis and he just couldn't get his b5m to work (track was a lil loose) so he said hes going to put it back stock.
I think the key to stock is a good motor (not a $200 motor but like a killshot with a HT rotor which is what I run), battery and maybe do some things to lighten the drive train like pucks and aluminum top shaft. Thats it.
Don't forget, you need the ESC that gives the most timing while in blinky mode.
