Well I ran my 21.5T trackstar in a race a couple days ago. I had the timing on the back of the motor maxed out. I was getting smoked in the straights. I was running 88/48 gears in my TC4 which comes out to about 4.58 FDR. After the races the motor was barely warm to the touch. I was going to swap to an 80/48 4.17 FDR but the guys I was racing with kept telling me I was going to burn up my motor if I did that. Any truth in this or would I just need to run a fan on the motor? I was taking to one of the faster guys after the race and he said he always runs between 4.1 and 3.8 FDR in his xray car depending on the track. I'm wondering if the other guys I was running with didn't know that the TC4 has a 2.5 internal ratio as they all run xray cars.
