An interesting thought, but when the first F104 came out to get it to handle racers put extra weights either side of the battery to emulate the F103 transverse battery weight distribution. As the cars have developed we are now putting the battery forwards against the servo, moving the weight distribution as far forward as possible.




I don't know about other rules, but the transverse battery limits the number of bodies that can be used here in the UK. Our rules state that none of the chassis can be seen sticking out of the body when viewed from above.
