I have replaced many times more than the years with 4.

I ran 1 set of belts for 1 whole year in my MRX5. But I ran Capricorn plastic cream coloured pulleys(just the 4 small ones) and standard Mugen belts.(not rubber). I also applied oil to the belts before each race meeting (300 weight shock oil). The belts and pulleys still look good, but I just replaced them as a precaution. I think the belts also have to be correctly tensioned and not tensioned too tight. I only ran the belts for that long just to see how long they would last. It's always best to change belts before any big race meet.
