It sort of depends on what class your running. In general, the slower classes can run with looser belts, where mod uses a tighter belt. You can also alter the way a car feels by running a front belt tight and a rear belt loose and vice versa. You can run a rear belt a little looser than a front belt since its shorter and doesn't whip as much.
