That's precisely the type of ingenious little ideas I conjure up in my brain all the time. One suggestion though is to make the jig a tad taller on the guide side and don't go so far past the piston because the bit eats a bit of material off the jig. Just drill til it punches through and keep the power on as you pull out of the jig so as to pull any burrs with it.
