ok, so I completed my first night with my MM converted car. The only upgrades I ran were traxxas xrings, 2 Ti turnbuckles and an AVID triad slipper. I ending up running a total of about 7 packs at about 5 -6 minutes each. This includes 2 heats and a main. We had 34 drivers in 17.5 buggy and I qualified 12th. But now lets get to numbers. RM vs MM.

Best run of 17.5 with RM
16 laps 5:20.6
Fast lap 19.01
Top 5 19.242
Top 10 19.452
Top 15 19.815

Best run of MM on same layout
15 laps 5:00.551
Fast lap 19.043
Top 5 19.376
Top 10 19.606
Top 15 20.037

Conclusion. I am still faster with the RM car in 17.5. I was really surprised that my times were not better, because the MM car "felt" faster and "better". I probably was losing some time in the single short run up double and I occasionally slapped and slid the car over a big double. But in other parts of the track, the car felt much better. Also, this layout has a lot of 180's, so the thing that the MM is supposed to be really good at, didnt exist. If the track was more flowing, I am sure the MM would come out on top. I also only have a few packs on the MM and probably close to 100 on the rm. Also, my MM car weighted in at 1650 grams and my RM car is 1525. But, I am not sure I would ever want the MM car at 1525. Probably 1575 -1590 would be a weight. The MM car was definitely looser in the rear, but I think the weight made the car more stuck. And it still felt pretty nimble. And I really really need to find out what Spencer Rivkin is running for a shock packs. He was long jumping, and flat landing, rear landing, front landing and side landing the big air jump and hit car made no sound at all landing it. And it was not because he was fast, we landed that thing every which way but loose and it landed like a cat. Pretty much every other b5m slapped and bounced trying that. I did ask one AE driver what shock package he was running.....He told me he didnt know, Spencer did his shocks....rofl. Anyway, summery... I really liked the MM car, but IMO its way too heavy for 17.5 indoor medium bite at stock weight.
