I use to think that all the new Car's advantages would make it impossible for me to compete with my tc4, until I realized that the tc4's potential was in the combination of a free drivetrain and the high low End torque of new brushless motors. I gear much higher than belt cars without losing bottom End grunt, eventhough my Car was 70grams overweight... I plan to change to lighter electronics for next carpet season, and will surely get ahead of many belt cars while I might still have to gear even higher, furthering the speed gap..... I ran a 55t/40t gearing last year, and will consider trying 55t/41t or 55t/43t if I get faster.... I'll know soon enough if I was correct......
