Running an Asso RC12R5.2 currently but not really happy with the quality of the parts.
I might be able to buy the 2013 X12 kit NIB for almost half the price of the newer 2014 kit but in doubt.
Is the 2013 kit still competitive, are parts still available and would it be upgradable for a reasonable cost to 2014 spec ?

X12 2012 is still competitive at my local track. It is a good car to run.
because all the carbon parts are different, the front lower arms are different. 2014 arm use alu e-centric mount to hold it to chassis. the screw holes for lower arm are not interchangeable too. unless you can get someone to cut you all the carbons for cheap, I don't recommend upgrading it (I bought an X12 2014 and have people cut me a whole set of carbon for the price of what Xray charges for single piece of chassis)
