As for flat surface, save some scraps from your next body cut and use them to test with maybe? Put the goo gone in an extra spray bottle. Just don't leave it upstairs on your wife's vanity. You will be dead meat if you do.
I save scraps from VTA shells and from SCT shells. They are great for testing paint layers and for reinforcement. I add them to the shoo goo in the front and front corners of my race shells.
