Looking forward to the next two rounds in Southern Illinois this weekend. Weatherman is saying there should be no problems with snow or ice so we're hoping for a good turnout.
If you are looking for lodging, just google Carbondale IL lodging and let the ratings be your guide. All motels are no more than 10 minutes from the race track with the normal eateries close by.
Bring tables/chairs/extension cords. We have plenty of room for trackside pitting and the building is pretty well lit.
The racetrack is located at 900 W. Sycamore in Carbondale at the corner of Oakland and Sycamore. It is an old national guard armory with racers entry/unloading on the west side of the armory and parking on the north side.
Track/pit setup will be done Friday evening with no practice until Saturday morning.
Friday 5-9pm track/pit setup NO PRACTICE
Saturday and Sunday will be two separate events. Doors open at about 8am each day.
Both days will be open practice until around 11-11:30. Current plan is F-1 qualifying between 12-12:30 with support class qualifying starting at 1:00.
F-1 mains will more than likely occur between qualifying rounds 1/2,2/3, with the final following the supporting class mains.
This follows our normal club schedule other than the addition of the UF1 program.
Sunday's schedule may start a little earlier to get everyone out at a reasonable hour.
