Regenerative is when you use a large enough not fully charged lead acid (auto) battery (or multiples) for the power source, and the charger basically runs in reverse, discharges the RC battery into the lead acid(s). 206B can go to 300 watts that way.
External uses a properly sized external resistor bank, maybe a light bulb setup, etc, to dissipate the energy. Can get to 500W.
