It depends on whether you manage to race without crashing. If any accident happens that rolls your car, without a roll mast it is almost guaranteed to stop rolling when it's upside down. With the roll mast there is a good chance it will end up back on its wheels. The longer the mast the more springing action it will give to throw it back on to its wheels, but it's also a piece of weight that's very high relative to the rest of the car.
ROAR has a maximum roll mast length of 350mm.
