the only reason it keeps spinning is that it is in the air and not loaded on the ground...if it is on the ground and you hit the brakes..they will function as they are supposed to be..to freewheel and in effect give you the handbrake effect.
In reverse, it will feel weaker since on the rear wheels are giving power to the car and not the front wheels since the FOW just freewheels the fronts. They just look like they are spinning when in reverse since it's up in the air and there is no resistance.
