I would definitely buy some springs, they are the easiest thing to change that can make a huge difference.
Quite often I will leave everything else exactly the same and just change springs.

P.S. 90% of my setups have the front shocks in hole 2 and rears in hole 3
+1 on the springs. Once you find a great setup that you like the springs, rollcenter blocks, and shims is about all you'll have to change out depending on track conditions and carpet to asphalt requirements. Very durable car!
