I've found the stock balls to be fairly soft. The first upgrade any car of mine gets is a BFast diff kit with their carbide balls and sanded rings. The diff in my SC is literally going on it's 3rd set of outdrives and still buttery smooth. That's over 6 months of racing. I do however keep the stock thrust assembly in place, it's a good piece.
