Prior to buying OVA's EVO 5 MS I starting to buy parts to build one. I happened to have the TBO3 rear prop shaft, TB03 Spur gear holder, and Non-MS motor mount. So I took my car apart to test some stuff out and to show some pictures of the differences.
The good news is that it did fit! See pictures below. (I didn't shim them perfect but close enough for testing.) The only thing that is off is that it does move the spur gear closer to the motor mount so the hole cut out in the bottom of the EXO chassis is not lined up anymore. This really isn't an issue because the biggest spur gear that will fit is a 84 tooth (64p.) There is still clearance under the spur gear as seen in picture 2.
I have the MS (picture 3) and Standard motor mounts (picture 2) shown.
I bent the same part. Don't ask how. But I used the part from the TB03 and flipped the spur adaptor around and re-shimmed everything. Can't even tell it's not the correct part. No mods to it. Just took my time shimming all the slop out. Hope this info helps
