I stuck with 48 pitch, mostly because i have a crap load of pinions and spurs from other cars. I think my current gearing is 75/32 and for the track i race on, i can throw another 7T of pinion on there yet. I am still working up on my gearing as i become more consistent with the car.
As for what you should be running, well, i would look in on the fast guys and see what rollout they are using, and work up to that, keeping a close eye on your temps as you do so.
