I run the Avid slipper with no issues.. double checked just now for marks on the inside of the gear cover and there isn't a scratch. Did you assemble it properly? There's a spacer you leave out when you use it on a Kyosho, but use on the B4.1.. I did notice my Avid spur and Robinson aluminum pinion starting to make noise.. so i have a new spur here soaking in a cup of water overnight before i install(recommendation from Avid to make the gear quieter). We'll see how well that works.
i had same issues i soaked them in a sealed Ziploc bag for three days and my car has been whisper quite .
i got to race my car with the new sideways short pack modification. just when i thought it could not get any better . i was wrong it is way better with some changes i made if anyone is interested pm me .
