Just the one side. I didn't find the handling any different. It was just one of many experiments, and did produce really low temps. Regarding flex these days I use a completely solid prototype C01L and uncut top deck, pretty much the opposite of where I was six months ago. Top mounted fan still does a good job without the cut out.
