I am considering buying an F1 (come from a tc background) and was wondering if the f104 black pro is a better deal then the vII? For 235 I can get the ver II pro but for 235 I can also get the pro black with the roll dampner and upper plate upgrade. As far as I can tell the v2 has a lot of plastic on it and comes with nothing where as the black is completely upgraded, comes with a body and tires.
This is to run indoor on carpet.

The link suspension of the v2 is more consistent than the T-bar, but you are correct that a few more hop up parts are needed if you are serious about racing. The pivot ball is kind of a weak spot, but then I have also seen my share of broken t-plates.
Nothing wrong with the pro. Upgrading to the roll damper is more of a maintenance thing than a performance enhancement.
I would lean towards the v2. A good driver can win with either.
